Using the persuasive power of media to advance pro-life views
 
The Caring Outreach is dedicated to creating a cultural shift on the issue of abortion by using appropriate media to specific target markets.

How true it is that "A picture is worth a thousand words!" Pictures bring a product, or a concern, into focus much more vividly than words.

Pro-lifers are particularly aware that we need to counter the belief that "choice" (the right to chose to kill the unborn) is an acceptable option. We urgently need to bring the pro-life perspective to those who rarely, or never, hear Life defended. We need to use effective messages that will reach people in their own homes - touch their hearts, penetrate their souls, and shift our culture to one that respects and defends life.

To accomplish this we must place our message on television.

The Chicago media market covers seventeen counties and reaches over nine million people. Concerned pro-lifers have supported the efforts of The Caring Outreach and placed 830 ads on network television in three separate pro-life TV campaigns in Chicago. These campaigns have begun changing attitudes right here in Illinois and in Indiana.

Our campaigns were doable because the Vitae Caring Foundation in Missouri researched, produced and tested various messages throughout the country.

The Veritas Society, the educational arm of Wisconsin Right to Life has primarily used the Vitae Caring Foundation ads for ten years and has documented a significant shift in attitude and a regular decrease in abortions in their state.

All commercials end with the CareNet/Optionline phone number that provides help and support to those in a crisis pregnancy.

Aware that our youth are our future, we have also initiated an outreach to youth on the internet in an effort to direct them to the pro-life website, www.TeenBreaks.com. Using Google AdWords we are able to help keep this site  at the top of the page when "abortion", "teen abortion" or "teen pregnancy" is typed into the "Google" search engine. If pro-life sites are not on that key first page, pro-abortion sites win by default.
